Our technology is based on a proprietary process of nano-atomization. In the nano-atomization process, a liquid is aerosolized forming a cloud of sub-micron droplets.
The liquid contains the material to be nano-sized in the form of a solution or suspension in any desired solvent (i.e. water, ethanol, etc.).
Our nano-atomizer is unique in its qualities of:
Droplets diameter
Cloud density
Droplet production conditions
Droplet diameter
When measured at the point of birth of the droplets, the D50 can be set anywhere within the following range: In water: 250nm-4.5µm; In ethanol: 150nm to 2.7µm. Around any selected droplet size within these ranges, a narrow size distribution (+/- 50nm) can be achieved.
Uniquely to our nano-atomizing process the formed droplets in the aerosol do not coalesce.
Droplets size distribution (water-based solution)
Droplets size distribution (ethanol-based solution)
Cloud density
Our technology produces a highly dense cloud of 1011-1012 droplets/cm3.
In comparison, common pneumatic technologies produce 105 droplets/cm3 (achieved at a high droplet velocity of about 100 m/sec), and common ultrasonic technologies typically produce 106 droplets/cm3 .
Droplet production conditions
Unique process characteristics:
The process requires no additives.
The formed droplets do not coalesce.
The aerosolization is achieved under ambient conditions of room temperature and atmospheric pressure.
The process is cost effective: low energy consumption, no clogging of the aerosolizing medium, and therefore requires only minimal maintenance.
